January 23 2024 – Qt-DAB-6.Beta

This evening Jan Van Katwijk released Qt-DAB-6.Beta. Favorites and Ensembles are no longer
in the same main Widget as was in 6.40 Experimental.

January 20 2024 – Qt-DAB 6.40 Experimental

A new, experimental release of QT-DAB 6.40 by Jan Van Katwijk. There’s a new approach to the main Widget. Three columns: service, chan (the Block/MUX) and fav (favourites).

After selecting a MUX (1) the ensemble stations can be seen and selected (2).
There’s no longer a separate widget for the favourites. They are now located in the main Widget below the ensemble list (3). A favourite can be selected. Add or remove a * in the fav column to add or remove a station on this list.

At this time it’s not clear whether this approach to the main Widget lay-out will be the way to go in future development.

Clem Schmidt’s QIRX 4.2.1 has been released today.

Mind: QIRX 4 is not free. You need a licence key.
Make sure you do have your licence key at hand when installing an update.
QIRX might ask you to input it. Also a backup of your QIRX config file could be useful when something goes wrong.

What’s new in QIRX 4.2.1? (Abridged from Clem’s QIRX History page)

Enable/disable the gain slider when AGC (in)active. (1)
ADS-B is working again.
The DAB channel is added to a raw recording

Automatically stop current file playback and restart file playback when a new file is dropped into the QIRX window.

January 2 2024 – Qt-DAB 6.40 released

Today Jan Van Katwijk released a Qt-DAB 6.40.
Qt-DAB 6.40 is a transitional release towards moving from 32-bit to 64 bit Windows releases.
The 6.40 64bit runs RTL-SDRV4 and not V3. There are two 32 bit versions: one for RTL-SDR V3 and one for V4.

What’s new?

The scanning code has been rewritten and the scan button optimised.

The number of buttons are reduced. The schedule button was moved to the ‘show controls’ widget (1). The content button (2), the technical widget button (3) and the mute button (4) are replaced are now clickable labels.
The label indicating the computer load disappeared, as well the label telling the estimated TII.
