AbracaDABra 3.3.0. has been released by Petr Kopecký and there are lots of interesting new features.
You can download AbracaDABra 3.3.0 from Petr’s Github release page.
Feedback and bug reports are welcomed on his Github issues page.
What’s new in 3.3.0? Make sure Expert mode UI is on!
* MAIN WIDGET *
- You can now set optional country flags for Ensemble and Service.
This feature only works with an internet connection.

- System time can be shown when DAB time is not available.
Both features can be enabled in the settings ‘Other’ widget.

Adjustable SLS / DL(+) layout – border between SLS and DL(+) can be moved up and down.
* DEVICES *
- An RF level correction for RTLSDR and RTL-TCP has been added. This can be used to compensate LNA gain.

- Runtime change of SDRplay device (RSPdx a.o.) antenna input. User feedback is needed as some users reported it as not working properly.
- *.iq files are added in supported extension lists for Raw file input.
* TII *
- A great new feature: the map position and zoom are retained. No need to toggle the map for each session!
- TII codes without transmitter information (fake codes or unlisted codes) are not persistent.
* SCANNING TOOL *
This tool has been upgraded with some very interesting improvements!
The UI has been redesigned with some features being moved to a new three dots menu.

- Clear scan results on start: when stopping the scan and starting again the previous results can be retained (or not).
- Hide local (known) transmitters: see below.
- AutoSave CSV: scan results can be automatically saved on ending a scan in the location set by the user in the TII tab of the Settings Widget.
- SNR is added to the main Scanning tool screen.

- Save as CSV was moved from the main Scanning tool screen to the new (three dots) menu.
Just like before this is to manually save your scan. There’s no reminder when shutting down the Scanning tool. So don’t forget to go to the new menu and ‘Save as CSV’ to the folder of your liking. - A great new feature is the ‘local (known) transmitters’.
- User can mark or unmark local transmitters and in the three dots menu these can be hidden or deleted from the sessions.
- Hidden from local (known) transmitters locations won’t be downloaded in the .csv.
- Cleared from local (known) transmitter database: all your marked as local (known) transmitters are back to unmarked.
- More than one row of logs can be selected and marked or unmarked as local.
- Marking one transmitter will mark all logs from this transmitter on the same MUX.

* ENSEMBLE INFORMATION DIALOGUE *
- FIB and MSC statistics have been redesigned and RS BER estimation added for AAC services.
* AUDIO *
- Detection of AAC stream drop-outs. Codec information in main windows disappears in such case.
- Selection between FAAD and FDK-AAC decoder – FDK-AAC seem to have slightly better audio quality and has embedded error concealment. Check out the Settings Audio tab.

- New “Default audio device” added in audio output selection. When selected, application output follows default audio output on the pc.
Example: on a laptop application audio is from loudspeakers and when you connect the headphones, it should start playing in headphones.
Check this in the three dots menu of the main Widget and choose Audio output.
* BUG FIXES AND UI POLISHING *
- Log timestamps are fixed. Some users reported a garbled timestamp when using MS Excel.
- The settings widget can be reduced in size accommodating small screens and its position on the screen is retained.
